Oatlands offers multiple spaces that are beautiful and functional for various events.
Oatlands is an ideal venue for those looking for a memorable event, and has served as the location for a wide range of work and social functions. It is an expansive property with historic structures and a 4.5-acre walled garden that is perfect for intimate gatherings, smaller weddings, showers, rehearsal dinners and corporate retreats. We are conveniently located 30 minutes from Dulles International Airport, close to Historic Downtown Leesburg, as well as Middleburg. Oatlands offers a scenic getaway, just a little over an hour west of the Washington, D.C., metro area.

Do we have onsite catering?
As a Historic Site, Oatlands does not have a dedicated catering staff or kitchen. Rather, we are more than happy to connect you with area caterers who execute fantastic dinners, business lunches and other events.
Are we ADA accessible?
The Carriage House is the most accessible of our rental spaces, and is best situated for any group with accommodation requests. Other spaces are more complex, due to their historic nature, but please reach out to staff with any questions or concerns.
Do we have weddings?
Oatlands is a beautiful place, and we occasionally receive inquiries for weddings. We deeply appreciate the interest, but as a historic site—with historic buildings, gardens and, yes, historic plumbing—we are not situated to offer the amenities and support required of most weddings. Moreover, our history as a plantation guides us in that we are not only the caretakers of a beautiful, enjoyable place in the present, but the stewards of a former slave plantation. It is our mission to not only preserve but to respect that history. Consequently, weddings at Oatlands are rare occurrences and are taken on a case by case basis according to staff capacity. Considerations include, but are not limited to, wedding size, requested location on the property and connection to the site.
