Derrick DeWayne Clarke is a dedicated engineer and a 30-year resident of Loudoun County, Virginia. Leveraging advanced degrees in mathematics, engineering and data science, Clarke serves as an associate director for the Loudoun Soil & Water Conservation District and an “at-large” member of the Loudoun Heritage Commission. In these roles, he advocates for evidence-based policies that safeguard watersheds, enhance soil health and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. As a member of the Heritage Commission, he advises the Board of Supervisors on the protection of Loudoun’s natural and cultural resources and the implementation of the Countywide Heritage Preservation Plan. A passionate community leader, Clarke is committed to elevating public awareness of the vital role conservation and heritage preservation play in securing the Commonwealth’s agricultural and historical legacy.
