Mars Recognized for Contributions to Oatlands Restoration Efforts

Oatlands opened its mansion and gardens for a soirée fundraiser Sunday afternoon. Along with an afternoon of croquet and lawn bowling, the program included a special tribute to one of the historic property’s strongest supporters.
Leaders from the National Trust for Historic Preservation joined Oatlands Executive Director Margaret Salazar-Porzio in unveiling a plaque that memorializes the contributions of Jacqueline Mars, whose contributions have helped finance significant restoration efforts at the 418-acre former plantation south of Leesburg.
