In commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party and other events that led to the start of the American Revolution, Oatlands presents its own “tea party” on Sunday, July 7th, at 1:00. Join local public historians Rich and Tracy Gillespie as they explore what led to the December 1774 “incident at Griffin’s Wharf” in Boston and tea-based uprisings in other American colonies. Enjoy an afternoon tea menu while sampling modern renditions of the five teas thrown overboard in Boston, with commentary on each tea.
You will enjoy traditional English scones, Devon cream, classic tea sandwiches and sweets, local preserves, and Oatlands’ exclusive tea blend.
