New: Sign our petition calling on the National Trust to fulfill its obligations to Oatlands, the Loudoun County community, and other historic sites.
Oatlands is suing the National Trust for Historic Preservation for financial mismanagement. Over the last four years, the Trust has denied Oatlands full access to its money – access which is vital to fulfilling Oatlands’ mission and being a place where visitors engage with and learn from history. The property has suffered millions of dollars worth of damages as a result of the National Trust withholding money from the endowment, stopping major restoration projects, and blocking Oatlands from increasing the endowment. Learn more about the lawsuit and the steps Oatlands has taken to protect and preserve this historic gem at the links below.
