ELAINE NUNNALLY, September Featured Artist in the Carriage House Gallery

September 1, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

  • « ALLY MORGAN, September featured artist in the Carriage House Gallery
  • Creative Watercolor with Michael Shibley »

Elaine Nunnally is a very well known artist / teacher in the Loudoun Community. She is an instructor at the Greenhouse Studio at Oatlands.

“I have been doing art in some form or another for all of my life.   It is as natural to me as breathing.   After teaching high school art for 40 years, I retired and have been painting ever since!  I still love teaching and I have continued to teach some workshops, and adult classes.”

When I was in college, watercolor wasn’t even offered as a class, so I took a watercolor class through J.M.U. in the summer of ’85 and I was hooked!  I have been painting almost exclusively with the medium ever since.  It is, to me, the most exciting and versatile painting medium available today.  One can paint transparently or paint with heavy layers and create an opaque look, which is what I do with many of my paintings in my latest series. I know I will never “master” the medium, but I will keep trying for as long as I can hold a brush!
