About: Lis Zadravec
Lis is a signature member of the Colored Pencil Society of America. Her award-winning narrative colored pencil artwork is internationally recognized and has been published, among other places, in the book “Draw Portraits in Colored Pencil”. Having studied oil painting and portraiture at the Corcoran School of Art, her approach to colored pencils reflects the layering technique used in the Maroger method of painting. Colored pencils lend themselves to precise detail and photo realism, Lis also aims is to make subjects look as if they were painted. Her approach is unique even among other colored pencil artists and her standards of excellence have been confirmed by many curators and jurors. She has been teaching for over 2 decades and working wish colored pencils more than 30 years. She brings experience and enthusiasm to a medium that has now caught the world’s attention.
